Manak Carnival



 *Organization of One-Day Standards Carnival by the Ghaziabad Branch of the Bureau of Indian Standards on the Occasion of its 78th Foundation Day* 


On 11th January 2025, the Ghaziabad branch of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organized a one-day Standards Carnival at Indraprastha Engineering College, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad as part of the 78th Foundation Day celebrations of BIS. The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the Chief Guest, Mr. Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Director General of BIS, along with Mr. Abhinav Gopal, Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Ghaziabad; Mr. Alok Kumar Srivastava, Director General of the National Testing Institute; Mr. Ranvijay Singh, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Ghaziabad; and Mr. Kumar Animesh, Director of the Ghaziabad Branch.


Following the lamp-lighting ceremony, a welcome address was delivered by Mr. Kumar Animesh, Director of the Ghaziabad Branch, and Mr. Ajay Kumar, Director of Indraprastha Engineering College. The Chief Guest, Mr. Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Director General of BIS, then addressed the audience. During the event, Mr. Tiwari also inaugurated the "Standards Hero" and two podcast series.


As part of the carnival, stalls were set up by approximately 1,500 students from 24 schools in the Standard Clubs under the Ghaziabad branch, as well as by 8 industries, 2 Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and the District Industries Center. These stalls showcased various activities of the Bureau of Indian Standards.



Attendees, including students, NGOs, society members, and representatives of various government and non-government organizations, participated in diverse activities such as dance performances, street plays, debates, painting competitions, band competitions, badminton matches, and other games and programs. Additionally, a press conference and a video podcast with Mr. Pramod Kumar Tiwari were organized during the event.



In the second phase of the program, an Industrial Conclave was successfully held, with participation from around 350 individuals representing industries from the districts under the Ghaziabad branch. The Industrial Conclave featured speeches by Mr. Naveen Kumar Arora, Joint Director of the Ghaziabad Branch; Ms. Priyanka Mehra, Joint Director; Mr. Hariom Meena, Assistant Director; and Ms. Neelam Singh, Assistant Director.


Industry participants reviewed and discussed various aspects in detail, fully benefiting from the conclave. They expressed enthusiasm and satisfaction regarding the progress made. The program concluded with the distribution of gifts to industry participants and winners of various competitions, boosting their morale.
