Small Step, Sustainable Future with Salaam Namaste CRS

 

 Salaam Namaste CRS is yet again honored to invite incredible individuals to the radio who have dedicated their time and efforts to shaping a better future. We had between us the representatives from two of the compassionate NGOs: Sadrag NGO and Mera Sahara JWP NGO.

These two NGOs are deeply engaged in charitable activities that provide not only aid to women, youth and children from marginalized communities but also enhance them with vocational skills vital for earning. Having them on the radio, and listening to their NGO initiatives and impacts on the community was a great insight for the people of Salaam Namaste CRS.

SADRAG NGO:-

Founded in 2004, with the mission “Capacity building of women and children by meeting their basic education, health and skill development needs.” SADRAG NGO is working in geographical areas of Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, rural communities of Western UP and Bangalore. 

Their area of intervention include; Child protection, Child education, skill and livelihood, Bridging the Digital Divide and Green initiatives.

Mrinalini Ma’am from SADRAG NGO shared the various projects they are working on  such as,

Sarthak for women-  a project based in Nagla village of UP where women are given three months training of in tailoring that includes basic skills of Stitching and tailoring. In the process, clothes are collected from people who want to donate their clothes. These clothes are then turned into beautiful bags by the women. These bags are sold and the funds raised through this are used as funds for training and skill development of women.

Sarthak for children and youth- The children and youth belonging to migrant and marginalized communities are upskilled with training Computer courses to make them employable.

Ugta Suraj- It aims at mobilizing children and counseling parents from migrant communities to teach and train them in the SLATE curriculum and also complete their enrolment in formal schools.

Access to Justice – In collaboration with the Kailash Satyarthi Foundation, it works towards the welfare of children, protecting children from child marriage, child labor, etc.



MERA SAHARA JWP NGO :-

 In care with a nonprofit bridge school, Mera Sahara NGO is situated in the Nithari district of Noida and works for women and children of the rural community to educate them counsel them and aware them of their rights.

We had Renu Chaudhary Ma’am and Preeti Ma’am from MERA SAHARA JWP NGO who told us about their initiatives and mission. “Joint Women’s Programme (JWP)”, a registered society for meeting a range of operational expenses and contributed to running the Education-cum-Protection Centre for children by the name of “Mera Sahara” where around 110 children, between the ages of 1-12 years, are educated, protected and made eligible for mainstream schools. Children who qualify to go to mainstream schools are admitted to the nearby Government School.  Their center of focus includes.

Education- In support of a Non-Profit Bridge School, the NGO provides mandatory primary education to the class of 5 and also helps in the admission of children to formally recognized schools.

Skill Development-  The center is determined to upskill the youth and women of the nation with a range of skill training such as Tailoring, Boutique, Bakery and computer training.

Women empowerment- The sensitization meeting to address violence is organized. Women are made aware of their rights and empowered to stand against domestic violence, abuses, etc.
