Bureau of Indian Standards Ghaziabad Branch Office Organizes Grand Standard Festival on World Standards Day
The Ghaziabad branch office of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organized a grand Standard Festival on the occasion of World Standards Day on October 14, 2024, at Hotel SK Clyde Grand.
Inauguration
The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the chief guest Dr. R.K. Tyagi (Deputy Director General, Central Region, BIS), Padma Shri Ustad Faiyaz Wasifuddin Dagar (Indian classical singer of the Dhrupad style), and Shri Nikhil Pran (Director, Pran Comics Publication). Shri Kumar Animesh (Branch Head and Director, Ghaziabad Branch) delivered the welcome address.
Technical Addresses
This was followed by technical addresses by Ms. Priyanka (Joint Director, Ghaziabad Branch) and Shri Naveen Arora (Joint Director, Ghaziabad Branch) on the relevance of World Standards Day. Dr. R.K. Tyagi emphasized the importance of standards in the changing landscape of India and awarded prizes to participants.
Various Programs
Students from Amity International Delhi, KL International Meerut, Kendriya Vidyalaya Meerut, Dewan International Meerut, A Children's Academy Ghaziabad, and Indirapuram Public School Ghaziabad participated in various programs, including street plays, standard stalls, painting competitions, and other activities.
Awards and Conclusion
Directors, principals, and mentors from various institutions were felicitated for their contribution to BIS's standard promotion activities. Finally, Neelam Singh and Hariom Meena from BIS awarded medals to all the participating children, encouraging their enthusiasm.

World Standards Day is celebrated globally on October 14 to honor the efforts of standards organizations and professionals who contribute to the development of international standards. The theme of this year's World Standards Day was "Standards for Sustainable Development: A Shared Vision for a Better World".
